I Am Chief

There are many applause able statements made by experts, religious leaders, politicians, philosophers and professionals. Most of them are good to hear and to appreciate how they were made but not trust worthy to accept as solution for own problems.

Such statements could be acceptable because they might have taken into account societal norms, political environments and contemporary socioeconomic issues. Such statements could be pleasing certain groups but upsetting others. In our today’s daily Bible verse, Paul reveals something that should be acceptable to ALL for own good. This statement of Paul is not something everybody might want to believe and agree with but some truth that all need to accept to get well.

Paul writes, “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.” (1 Tim 1:15). Paul witnessed the transformation that happened in his own life. He is sure that the discovery is remedy for everyone’s spiritual sickness and sinful life.

It seems foolishness to many but yet “worthy of all acceptation”. “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”. Paul is taking himself as showcase to help audience. He saying that it even worked for him, him the chief sinner.

PRAYER: Dear God, thank you for sending to save us, sinners. We are made righteous by His blood, we have been cleansed by His blood and we have been accepted to you, the righteous one by His blood. Now help us to bear witness for you and to lead people to your Son in who salvation is real, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
